The objective of this project was to use the already established pebble brand to create a complete design system and component based UI design for their website update. The website is all about the content and so required the ability to build flexible collection pages, and article pages with a range of matrix blocks. A sidebar design was used to allow easy movement throughout the website and to be able to share all of the sustainable brands that are showcased on the website.

It was also important that article pages were designed in a way that you knew immediately what website you were on. A lot of the time, articles get shared and so many users will initially access the website via an article. This needed to be able to show other relevant content and easy ways to get around the site.

Further along in this project, once the website was live, I updated the design of the pages in the about section. These pages needed to break the standard layout. They were to be more like a landing page so that pebble could send clients and potential partners directly to these pages in order to shout about pebble and show them the kind of things they can work together on.

The main challenge of the project was making sure that the pebble brand was clear, whilst also allowing the content to talk. This is why it was so important to ensure flexibility of pages, especially article pages. It was also a challenge to break away from the standard design style to create the landing style about us pages, but this really needed to be in a unique style and I managed to achieve that.

The client was very happy with the final website as they had complete flexibility when writing articles and adding them to the website, they could add a range of content and make beautiful pages to match their content. They were also happy with the about pages as they really showed to potential partners what pebble is all about and all the exciting things they are doing.
