Designing a comprehensive and user-friendly website system for Speech Link Multimedia, a company supporting schools with innovative speech and language tools.
Speech Link Multimedia is a trusted provider of speech and language support software for schools. Their tools help identify and support children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), empowering teachers and helping pupils thrive. They approached me to redesign their website, aiming for a clean, flexible and accessible digital experience that would hold a large volume of content while staying aligned with their new print materials and visual identity.
I led the full UX and UI design process - from research and planning through to final design delivery. My focus was on creating a set of versatile page templates and reusable components that would work across different types of content and user journeys.
Speech Link Multimedia needed a complete overhaul of their website design. The new website had to serve different user needs, present complex information in a clear and engaging way, and support specific goals such as product sign-up, blog access and their annual online conference.
I began by auditing the current website, identifying areas of friction, and mapping key user journeys. I worked closely with the client to plan the necessary templates and project requirements.
The biggest challenge was managing the volume of content and creating a design system that could scale, remain visually engaging and be easy to update for the client. I created detailed wireframes to outline the structure and functionality of each page type, followed by fully branded UI designs in Figma.
Throughout the project, I collaborated with both the client and the developer to ensure the designs met real user needs, adhered to accessibility standards and could be implemented efficiently.
The final result is a highly functional and clean website design system that reflects the professionalism and clarity of the Speech Link Multimedia brand. The modular templates make it easy to build new pages and accommodate future growth. The designs support better user flow, clearer communication and easy to use navigation.
