WEBSITE UI DESIGN
Designing an engaging, user-friendly website for Algrano, a coffee sourcing platform built on transparency, relationships and fairer practices for producers and roasters.
Algrano is a tech-driven platform that enables direct trade between independent coffee producers and roasters around the world. Their mission is to reset the power imbalance in the coffee industry by promoting price transparency, trusted relationships, and open communication.
Following a recent brand refresh, they needed a new website to bring the brand to life online - one that would clearly communicate their purpose, educate roasters about the platform, and reflect their values in a compelling, accessible way. This project was taken on by Kind, with my role as website designer on the project, from wireframes through to responsive UI design.
I worked closely with the team at Kind to understand Algrano’s users, with a focus on the platform’s roaster audience, and how we could shape user journeys that felt clear, informative and intuitive.
Using the new brand identity as a foundation, we translated key user needs and business goals into a clear content structure and information hierarchy. I designed wireframes to map out purposeful user journeys and establish page layouts that would support modularity and flexibility.
Once wireframes were approved, I moved into designing the full responsive UI. My aim was to create a clean, professional and engaging experience that reflected the openness and directness of the Algrano brand. The visual language made use of bold colour, playful shapes and directional graphic elements to guide users through the site and encourage exploration.
The website is designed to educate, inform and inspire, with space for storytelling, product features, and community insight. The final outcome was a website design that supports Algrano’s mission, builds trust with roasters and growers, and offers a clear, accessible user experience that reflects the brand’s energy, clarity and purpose.
